Pastor's History With The Church
Pastor Chalfant and his wife received the baptism of the Spirit in 1971, at the United Pentecostal Church pastored by the late L.J. Lewis, in Lawrence, Kansas. He was a high school teacher and transferred to Junction City, Kansas, where he sat under the late Elder L E Westberg for over two years. Under the tutelage of Elder Westberg he took his first pastorate in Council Grove, Kansas in 1979. The church experienced revival. In 1982 he and his wife spent two years in home missions at Ottawa, Kansas. There is a church there today. In 1984 he assumed the pastorate in Leavenworth, Kansas. The church grew and moved into the present locaton (a bigger and better building) in 1992. The church has experienced growth and revival. The church is no longer affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International, although the same doctrine is held, and many friends and associates are still held dear. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Pastor Chalfant.
